WHARTON SCHOOL OF BUSINESS IS AMONG THE TOP BUSINESS SCHOOLS IN U.S

Updated: May 30, 2020

Founded in 1881, Wharton is the oldest U.S. business school and second-largest behind Harvard. Students at Wharton may choose from 19 majors and nearly 200 electives. Wharton offers dual-degree programs with seven other schools at Penn, plus joint programs with Johns Hopkins’ School of Advanced International Studies and Harvard’s Kennedy School. In October 2018, Wharton upped the amount of its largest fundraising campaign ever to $1 billion. Money raised will go to core capital projects, including construction of a new building that will house the Wharton Statistics Department, and help recruit and retain faculty and fund investments in research and education programs. The same month the school received its largest single contribution in history of $50 million from 1984 Wharton graduate Marc J. Rowan and his wife Carolyn to establish the Rowan Distinguished Professors and Rowan Fellows programs.
